Another of these threads from me - I like to communicate. What do you all do for work or school etc. I for one am currently in 4th year at a grammar school. Studying Art, ICT and Ad Maths (none of the others matter) Although since being told I was not allowed to sculpt a space marine for my 3d art coursework I have decided to do as little work as possible until fine arts next year. BTW when I say studying I mean barely avoiding a fail - need to do some more revision.

I am currently between projects, meaning that i finished school two years ago, and tried to go uni but due to some unfortunate circumstances couldn't go Anyway now i'm trying to get a job for a couple of months but the unfortunate global financial situation makes this difficult. So I spend my time helping friends and socializing, mostly thorugh the vigorous use of alcohol. After the summer i plan to go to uni and start studying biotech.

I wok for an American Credit card company in the UK. I make sure that POS (point of sale) terminals accept my companies credit cards. This involves investigating reported issues from card holders (customers) and liasing with Terminal providers and other banks to resolve issues as well as testing new products with as many Terminal Providers as possble. Suppose it sounds really boring, but like all things you get out what you put in, I work with some excellent people from a diverse background and it pays the mortgage I do want this year to start a History degree at OU - but I will have to wait and see. Marcus Camillus - you could always sculpt Nepolean (but in your head it will be Macharius! )

Sounds a bit like Canada whan you say it like that. ;D
Anyway I'm from the Emerald Ilse myself - Ireland, land of Whiskey, Green fields, Irish music and ... Guiness. Or if your one of those Americans who comes to Ireland and therefore claim to be Irish, land of Leprechauns and getting ripped of buying peices of the "Blarney Stone" and Bodhrans that are worth about £4 and sold for £50.

I have been there for 10 years - Not complaining yet!
I once visited several palces in Finland. Henko (?) and Helsinki plus a few other places that I cannot recall.
Quite liked it.
Didn't see any bears, trolls or weird people?

does sound like canada, it's true but people here don't speak english as a first language, and when i say weird, I mean bare assed running through a forest to jump into a frozen lake after spending an hour in a hot sweaty room and then going back and doing it again ;D Hanko very touristy place, and helsinki that's were i've lived for the last 7 years. It is quite nice gotta admit that

Good point. I did something like that in Russia once, I was staying with my cousins. It was an experience that's about the most positive thing I can say. Not something I would go back for - although almost everyone else was drinking a lot of Vodka so maybe that helps a wee bit...

I'm a plastic Paddy myself - Mums from Balinasloe in Galway - but she moved to England when she was sixteen with her parents (Note that she came from the place - to have 'gone to Balinasloe' implies that she's gone to the fairies).

Aye well that's fair enough - what I can't stand however, are people who are from Texas, or Ohio, or California or somewhere, with no close Irish relations and then come to Ireland once and then return to America now claiming Irish ancestry it's odd. Nice to think people want to be Irish though.

Well, I was in college, but it didn't work out, so I left that was about 2 weeks ago, so now I'm just looking for a job. Anyway, I'm pure english. Except my dad's scottish and my mum's irish..... Oh and I have family in canada, and australia, and pretty much every other country in the world..........yeah ok maybe I'm not pure english. Oh, and that thing about running bare assed through the woods and jumping in to a frozen lake, what's so weird about that? Where I live jumping in to frozen water just warms you up lol (well ok maybe not quite, but it is pretty cold here).

it is a national pastime here and i can tell you it's still bloody cold up here, the harbour still frozen. it is weird just because it's so common, anyway it does warm you up, the circulation improves, it especially warms you if you're already drunk on every alcoholic thing within reach, the whole culture up here is based on the prourement of alcohol, and it was just an analogy i mean nowadays it's quite common in other countries, like that's how weird it is i could tell you stories...
