Name: Zellr Vahrdel
Age: 629
Designation: Omega Marines, 4th Company, Techmarine
Birth Place: Mars
Height: 7 feet 1" (Closer to 8ft with Servo-Harness)
Hair Colour: Black
Physical Description: Techmarine Zellr Vahrdel is an imposing sight to be seen upon the vast battlefields of the 41st Millenium. His black and white Omega Marine armor is dyed the traditional rust red of the Mechanicum, as per tradition. His body is heavily modified, moreso then is common for a Techmarine. Almost all of his internal organs have been replaced, including his blood through the holy rite of Autosanguination. His bones, especially his forearms, wrists, hands and shoulders, are extremely reinforced, and in the case of his arms, hardwired to improve reaction time and control.
His right eye is one of the few biological constructs left in his body, with his left being replaced by an advanced optic implant, capable of seeing across a large spectrum and at great distances. Unlike most Techmarines, he has two Mechanderites installed, one armed with a deadly extending monomolecular blade, and the other a hypercoaxial data coupler. His throat has been replaced with a vox-motivator, allowing his voice to carry and boom, while also enableing the silent transmission of data. Electro-grafts festoon his hands, allowing him to sync with almost any technology.
Upon his skin, which is rarely ever seen, the holy litanies of the Explorator divisio are inscribed permanently into his flesh. These are the only visible remnants of his former vocation.
Unlike most Techmarines, Vahrdel does not carry an engraved Archeopoweraxe as is the right of his station. Instead, the various Astrotechnicus rights are inscribed upon his gleaming consecrated powersword.
Personality: Like a none to subtle fusion of ice and steel, Vahrdel is all protocol. All that was once a thingyy exo-merc working the red zone districts in Mars hab's has been ritualistically removed from his personality. His is now a servant of his chapter, and in proxy, the Mechanicum. Deeply proud of his past exploits, he seeks to venerate them in his current pledge.
The only vestige of his former self is his ability to quickly and correctly tactically appraise a situation. Prudence and careful planning has saved his life on many occasions throughout his long life, and continue to serve him in his daily perils. Hardly the type for social frivolity, or what are perceived normal bodily functions, Vahrdel is simply obsessed with his work, and neither sleeps, nor takes part in things he once considered integral to his existance.
Weapons:
Equipment: His servo harness mainly carries a large amount of ammunition, though depending on his assigned task, it may contain other materials.
History:
Techmarine Vahrdel has a rather long, and strangely circular history. Born on Mars, The Mechanicum has always been a part of his life. He was always someone who made things happen for himself, and while his born station was low, he quickly found himself in a place of prospect. Mars has always been a rather violent place, and a mercenary can make a good living, if he stayed alive. Vahrdel's heavily modified mercenary group became one of the more profitable PMC's at the planets disposal. All of its active combatants were modified in a myriad of cybernetic ways, most without the sanction of the Mechanicum. However, it was mostly looked over, as they fufilled a nescessary duty for Mars: The pacsification of dissidents.
It was during a nasty heretical insurrection among the hab fabricators that Vahrdel first caught the eye of an Omega Company scout. An advance scouting party had been sent to monitor the situation in case true heretical involvement was at work. Vahrdel's personal platoon had spear headed the main clearing effort, taking major casualties as it did. Zellr Vahrdel returned from the conflict bruised and battered, but nearly unscathed compared to his cohorts. While he looked promissing to say the least, the first time he was noticed, the Omega Marines turned away, unsatisfied despite his performance.
However, others were also watching Vahrdel. The Adeptus Mechanicus quickly co-opted him into there organization and further modified his body and personality. Joining the Exploratorious, he rose to the rank of Magos-Infera Explorator, and was in charge of of an Explorer cruiser of the name Visolo. While not making many significant findings, Vahrdel traveled the stars as a Magos-Infera, exploring many ancient and deadly uknown areas of space.
Unfortunately, Vahrdel's good fortune was not to last. In a long transient jump through the Warp, the Warp shields of the Visolo momentarily failed. The most minute flicker was just enough to allow hundreds of Daemonic entities to enter the ship, killing almost all of the crew, and damaging it catastrophically. Barely able to fight them off with his hardened gun-servitors, Vahrdel's ship crash landed on a remote uncharted world, well outside normal shipping lanes.
By the time a scouting party of the Omega Marines just happened to pass through the system, and locating the crash site, Vahrdel was the only one left alive, his heavily augmented physical form saving him. He had locked his body down into stasis for over fifty years, his body running off of the ruined remains of his ships powercore. The Mechanicus had him listed as dead, and the Omega's information on the Mechanicus was negligible at best, so they collected him, seeing as he was still useful. The specific scout party was in dire need of a technologic specialist, and after recovering, he served them as such, in re-payment for his rescue.
After a time, his pressance with the Omega Marines became a normality, and they allowed events to happen for him to become noticed by the Mechanicum again. Through classic Astarte subterfuge and cunning, the Mechanicum took Vahrdel back in and trained him as a Techmarine for 30 years, where he rejoined the chapter.
Now, Techmarine Vahrdel serves the chapter, ever seeking to repay his rescuers, and serve the Omnissah.
Sample Roleplay:
"Advance and form a perimiter, we don't want any of them escaping."
The ad-hoc team of Skitarri veterans and advanced combat servitors encircled the small heretical encampment, some 20 miles outside of Voldris Exema, Mars. They had been raiding caravans for weeks now, and as one of his tests, Techmarine-Prospect Vahrdel was required to either take there repentance, or destroy them. The dead wave of scouts now long behind them clearly indicated that repentance was not on the table today.
Las fire erupted from a window, and a servitor went down, his auxial link fried by a las bolt. His partner bot, swiveled around and plastered the building in Heavy Bolter rounds from his fused mount. They continued to advance. Vahrdel smashed forward, using his servo arms to blast directly through a permacrete wall, surprising the heretics behind. Some were killed by flying debris, but the ones remaining immediately engaged him in close combat. They were wretched, terrible gaunts. There faces were scarred and blodied, covered in a mishmash of metal and wire. Armed with primitive autopistols, they were utterly outgunned.
A Mechanderite flicked outward, its monomolecular blade extending and carelessly severing the head off of the nearest attacker. The other wrapped itself around the arms of another, shattering bones and flinging the shrieking form outside. Vahrdel shot another with his Stormbolter, and smashed his gauntleted fist through anothers skull. The

Weapons:
- Mastercrafted Stormbolter: Stormbolters are, in essence, two Bolter pistols strapped togeather. They have an immense rate of fire, and are particularly efficent in close range combat. Mastercrafted Stormbolters are of an exceptional quality, bearing an even higher rate of fire, greater accuracy, and the ability to tele-link with the weapon, controlling it with even more lethality. While they are usually very high ammo consuming weapons, Techmarine Vahrdel's wristmounted version has an ammo feed running from his servo harness, giving it a much greater capacity.
- Consecrated Powerblade: Blessed by Archeomagos Ilyra herself, this particular Powerblade is wristmounted into a pneumatic sheath built into the Techmarine's left arm plates. It is somewhat shorter then the usual powerblade, but can punch through any known armor.
- Mechanderites: Mechanderites are prehensil artificial limbs that are tentacle like in appearence. The are connected directly to the spine, allowing normal automatic control of them by there operator. They have a much greater reach, strength, and speed then normal limbs, and are surprisingly flexible and resiliant due to there advanced meta-alloy. One of them is armed with a extending monomolecular blade, capable of eviscerating even the most competent of close combat enemy at surprising ranges. The other, while still being very functional in close combat, is fused with a hypercoaxial coupling device, allowing for more advanced synthesis with data technology and machines then would be possible with just electro-grafts alone.
- Servo-Harness: All Techmarines are outfitted with a Servo-Harness. Arguably there most powerful tool of both technical mastery and martial destruction, it consists of a large power backpack and two advanced servo arms. Like the Mechanderites, the servo-arms are directly connected to the Techmarines spine. capable of performing numerous tasks, such as increasing his mobility, and assisting him in large repair tasks, the two arms are also armed with a combi-flamer each. A combi-flamer consists of a bolter with a flamer strapped to it. Mounted servo versions like the ones Vahrdel sports are less rudimentary, and are extremely effective against encroaching enemies.
Equipment: His servo harness mainly carries a large amount of ammunition, though depending on his assigned task, it may contain other materials.
