So, you've decided to become one of the Emperors Finest. Good for you! The following information will be useful to you if you want to stand a chance at surviving.
RPG INFORMATION
In the Sons of the Emperor RPG, players will create characters that act as a part of the 4th Company of the Omega Marines chapter of the Adeptus Astartes. Missions are handed down by the chapter master aboard our flag ship, the battle barge 'Proditor Nex', and will vary from rescue operations to search-and-destroy objectives, and everything in-between.
For this particular company, the home ship is the strike cruiser 'Deliverence', and the commanding officers are: Captain Eulaus Antonius, and Chaplin Claudius Perphius. These officers are proven warriors, and have reputations of being fair to their men.
Your first step on becoming a Omega Marine is to read, review and understand the RPG Rules. This is important, and will ensure that your stay here is a prolonged one. Next, the Codex Astartes requires that every Space Marine be familiar and intimate with their weapons and equipment in the field, so be sure to visit the Armoury for details of your wargear. A Marine who isn't aware of the tools at his disposal will soon become a dead Marine.
Finally, a brief History of the 4th Company has been provided in order for new recruits to understand the background of the unit they are joining.
When you think you are ready to join the Omega Marines, head on over to the Character Bio Submissions forum, where you will find all the resources you'd need to apply. Once you have posted your application, it will soon be reviewed by the staff, and you will be on your way to becoming one of the Emperors Finest.
RPG FORMAT
The RPG is set up in a free-form manner, meaning players will write posts as part of topics on this message board with little restrictions to the format in which they post. When the 4th company are not actively participating in a mission, players may do as they like. Their characters can get some food in the Mess Hall, relax in the Dormitories, or engage in simulated combat in the Training Facilities. During missions, however, things are a little different. First, it's important to remember the chain of command. By becoming a Space Marine, you're surrendering most of your options in regards to free choice. From this point onward, you must obey the instructions of your superior officers. However, this does not mean blind obedience. Space Marines are the elite of the Imperiums forces and their lives are not to be thrown away on a whim. Personal initiative is to be lauded if it leads to victory.
Always keep in mind that during missions, results of your actions will be decided by an admin or by designated GMs (Game-Masters) and not by you unless you are given strict permission to do so. For example, if you decide to lay down suppressive fire on a group of enemies, the action taken by said enemies will be controlled by an admin or GM. Whether you hit your target or not will also be decided in this fashion. This method allows the staff to maintain control of the mission and the way it is playing itself out.
Please be aware that during the course of a mission your character stands a good chance of dying or receiving crippling wounds if he/she isn't careful in the field. This is life for an Omega Marine. Before a mission, there is no telling who will live or who will die, but inactive players will obviously find themselves first on the list to be killed. If your character does die or is medically discharged, you're welcome to submit a new bio for another character and begin life as a Marine once more.
When a new mission starts, the necessary forums will be made up at that time. The only regular locations provided for the characters are located upon the 'Deliverence'. Once a mission is over, the threads will be archived and the old forums will be deleted. At that point, the new mission forums will be created.
If you have any questions about the formatting or the way to play, or anything at all, do not hesitate to ask for help from other players or from the board staff. We're all here to help.
