The Omega Marines were founded in M40 from the geneseed of the much venerated Ultramarines chapter. They operate from a fleet of warships led by the battlebarge 'Proditor Nex' and are charged primarily with the defence of the Armageddon sector of the Segmentem Solar.
The chapter fleet possesses three battle barges: 'Sanctified', 'Judgement' and 'Proditor Nex' and five strike cruisers: 'Deliverance', 'Steadfast', 'Veneratio', 'Virtus' and The 'Incendia Talio' along with numerous smaller escort vessels.
The 4th Company has always been among the chapter’s finest fighting companies, with an impressive history of victories in the Emperor’s name ever since the founding of the Chapter. The company has seen action against many of the enemies of mankind: the Orks, Eldar, Tau, Tyranids, the followers of chaos and even the dread necrons.
Notable recent campaigns of the 4th Company
4th company was the first imperial reinforcements to answer the distress call of Inquisitor Nazarius to the hive world of Hyberia just outside the Ultima Segmentum. The company underwent a purge of the largest hive, Varsius, eliminating a dangerous genestealer cult that had threatened to overrun the hive’s defences. At this time the company was stationed aboard the Veneratio strike cruiser.
The 4th companies most noteworthy Campaign was its deployment on the hive world of Armageddon during the Third War for Armageddon from the battle barge Proditor Nex along with the 1st and 3rd companies. The company was among the nine companies of the Chapter’s ten companies to deploy to the world in support of the Imperial defence forces.
It was here that Captain Fastius led an assault on an Ork storage facility (codename: facility 12). The resulting damage to the facility destroyed many Killa Kans, Deff Dreds and denied the Orks many more by destruction of the fuel tanks. This would be instrumental in the victory for Chapter forces at the defense of gate IX. Captain Fastius was mortally wounded in the assault and later perished on board the Proditor Nex.Following the assault on facility 12 the survivors were dropped on the flank of the main Ork attack force. The hit and run attacks on the Ork flanks would prove invaluable; tying up many Ork units and slowing the advance, buying the defenders valuable time to better the defenses.
Following the brief respite before redeployment to other AOs on Armageddon Force Commander Antonius was promoted to company captain. Battle brothers who had shown exceptional bravery or initiative in the previous weeks of campaign were given their invitations to join the first company. Many decided to remain with 4th company and lead squads of their battle brothers as sergeants.
After Armagedoon
The 4th Company continued to serve in the third war for Armageddon until its end. The company suffered a high casualty rate with 76% casualties following the official withdrawal of the Chapter from the Armageddon sector. The 4th company were then ordered to switch deployment to the strike cruiser Deliverance and initiate company rebuilding protocols.
Since then the 4th company have been deployed on numerous worlds. They assisted local PDF and Guard units in defence duties on Lalinta Prime and deployed in support of Star Dragon companies fighting the Iron Warriors in the Solar Segmentum.
Presently Captain Antonius and company chaplain Manius are recruiting initiates from various worlds, both the chapter’s recruitment worlds and any potential aspirants from the world’s visited on deployment.
