Right folks,
this is the place for all your MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online games) needs.
So post up what MMOs you play, what ones you think are worth a try, co-ordinate with others etc etc.
This summer I want to try Warhammer Online. Any takers?

I play it, I'm a Chaos Chosen on the Pheonix Throne server.
It's fun, but I haven't played in a while cuz I got bored.
(Happens to me in a lot of MMOs)

I was wondering about Warhammer Online. Is it just pvp and what all can you do?
Right now, the only mmo I play is City of Heroes and Villains. My best character is a corrupter on the Virtue server.

Its not entirely PvP, but that factors into majorly. In it there is something called realm-war. In it there are 9 terriotries being battled out by each of the factions Orks vs. Dwarves, Elves vs Dark Elves (shocker right? : and Chaos vs Empire. Based on how your character does in Player vs Enviroment and PvP, your faction will gain points in that region until they gain control which is referred to as Realm vs Realm. PvE includes Public Quests, which are places where a group must fulfill several objectives in order to finish it, and regular old quests. PvP includes fighting in out-of-world battlefields called Scenarios or taking battlefiled objectives in special RvR locations. Taking each of the many territories adds on points to your faction's total score. Once two of the factions on either the Order or Destruction side fully take control of two realms they are allowed to attack their enemy's capital (Altdorf for Order and the Inevitable City for Destruction) That is basically the idea behind Warhammer Online in a nutshell. One of my favorite things about it is how your character actually matter. Depending on how your character does on various battlefields and quests, your faction will either win or lose the war. Unlike WOW and other MMOs, where no matter what you do nothing will ever change. P.S. You can also besiege fortresses! If you have any more questions feel free to ask or check out the official website.

Just a question, is it fun? And if so is it enough to merit the purchase/subscription fees? After all, it's like buying a new video game every couple months, minus the new part.

I love it personally. I like the fact that you can choose whether you want to PvP or not. If you are PvE'ing you can queue up for a 15 minute match between your side and the other.
I think it's funny that Jacen plays Destro on that server. That's my Order server when I'm not eating dwarf face on Iron Rock.

Guys if one of you EU lads play Warhammer online then i could use a hand.
How many characters long is a product key code meant to be? Received a code today via email and it seems to be short. Just double checking.
Cheers.

I don't have this one so I can't say for sure, but if it's less than twenty characters, it's too short.

I was doing so well guys, for 6 years I had my mates going on and on about world of warcraft, and I resisted. Until two days ago. Damn free trial accounts, how am I supposed to resist if it's free? Well anyway, I have a level 12 troll hunter called Salum and a level 9 dwarf paladin called Regf on the realm of Steamweedle Cartel, and a level 11 undead warlock on the realm of azuremyst. If you have any characters on those realms look me up. Turns out leveling at the early (pre-10) levels is really quick. Had my first go at playing with another player properly as well, a troll priest needed help with a quest, so I gave him a hand. I'll definately be upgrading my account to the full thing, it's really quite good, just going to use up my 10 free days first. For those of you who didn't know about the free trial accounts, go to www.trywarcraft.com/.

That's how they hook you, man.
And don't worry, I used to love playing world of warcraft. Just dread level 30-50. Slowest leveling range and where the noobs are separated from the real gamers. But believe me, mate. It gets repetitive as hell and the NPCs no longer tell you "Okay, you're done here, go there." You have to figure that out yourself. Then Outland comes along and its all in good fun again. ;D

Magnus,
I play warhammer online because you can gain xp from pvp and realm vs realm.
That plus public quests (which are very fun).
It just makes leveling more than questing. You can quest if you wish but there is far more to levelling than that.
I would just advise, having played WoW myself, that you try Warhammer Onlines free trial first.
