Marcus entered the ships chapel, in search of the Chaplain and his counsel. He was not within the main chapel and Marcus did not wish to enter his quarters. Instead he called out; "Chaplain Perphius? Are you in there?" When there was no answer Marcus shrugged and walked back to the main room. Kneeling in the chapel Marcus began to intone the chatechisms of the Emperor in a quiet but audible voice. "Love the Emperor, For He is the Salvation of Mankind Obey His words, For He will lead you into the light of the future Heed His wisdom, For He will protect you from evil Whisper His prayers with devotion, For they will salve your soul Honour His servants, For they speak in His voice Tremble before His majesty, For we all walk in his Immortal shadow There is only the Emperor, and he is our Shield and Protector." Head bowed Marcus continued to intone the Sacred prayers and doing so found some peace of mind. In the Apothecarium he had been away from the sanctity and holiness of the chapel for too long. Even with the Chaplains visits it had not been the same. To be once more within this holy place was a relief and blessing to Marcus.

Suddenly realising the time Marcus remembered Brother Achilles. They had been supposed to go get Melta Bombs from the Armoury. Achilles had gone to get the bombs but undoubtedly he would be exhausted, whereas Marcus was still well rested from the Med-Bays. Using their squads vox line he hailed the Marine.
++Brother Achilles, Come in.++
++This is Achilles.++
++This is Marcus meet me in the Chapel and I will take those melta bombs off your hands. I am sure you wish to be well rested for the upcoming mission.++

"Melta bombs in a shrine to the Emperor?" The voice of Chaplain Claudius Perphius boomed across the quiet chapel reaching the ears of Brother Camillus. "I would worry more about the wrath of Brother Apothecary Silvanus if I were you Brother Camillus."Perphius strode down between the pews until he came level with Marcus. Kneeling in the pew on the opposite side from the young tactical marine he made the sign of the aquila. His voice was softer now, but the deep resonance still lay there. "But enough of my scolding. We shall make a prayer together then you shall go and get yourself cleared by the Apothecary. Brother Agrippa will not want more to burden him. " "From the words of Cardinal Beneficta. Something relevant for your next deployment I think. Now bow your head Brother, the Emperor listens."
"The heretic, the blasphemer, the traitor, none can be spared from their crimes, Let the light of the emperor guide the path of the righteous, To cleanse those would shroud his light with the shadow of their souls, Guide your servants in granting them a quick redemption, For there can be no pardon for such crimes, Emperor bless us who would step into the maelstorm of darkness to grant freedom to the faithful." With that Chaplain Perhpius made the sign of the aquila once more and took a seat in the pews, his eyes trained on the marine to his right.

Out of the shadows, Demoades came. The melta bombs hung loosely on his non-combat squig-skin belt. The marine wore loose-fitting robes of the color of the Omega Marines chapter. He strode into the chapel, approaching Brother Marcus.
"I have heard you hail..." He said, unclipping the bombs from his belt, and offering them to his battle brother. "I believe these belong to you..." He smiled to the Chaplain. "Greetings to you, Brother-Chaplain. I assure you, we will be careful with the weapon." He smiled.

Marcus, praying with the Chaplain, heard Brother Achilles enter the chapel.
"I have heard you hail..." He said, unclipping the bombs from his belt, and offering them to Marcus. "I believe these belong to you..." He smiled to the Chaplain. "Greetings to you, Brother-Chaplain. I assure you, we will be careful with the weapon." He smiled.
Marcus stood and walked over to him, taking the weapons he said.
"Thank you Brother, these may be well needed for our mission." he clipped them to his belt and looked up, "Know, Brother, perhaps we should go get that Plasma Gun? I am afraid I can only accompany you to the armoury; it seems Apothecary Silvanus is somewhat annoyed about me leaving his care. He grinned at his Battle Brother and said in a confidential whisper, "Honestly sometimes I think that his over-protectivness is more dangerous than the orks who gave me the wounds!"

He nodded, shrugging. Sooner or later, though, he would need his rest. "I will retrieve it..." He sighed, turning about and leaving to the armory.

The eyes of Claudius turned from the newly arrived Brother Achilles to Marcus as the two marines whispered like fish wives.
"I am old, not deaf." Claudius shook his head in dismissal and waved a hand at the two assembled tactical marines. "Now, carry on your gossiping and planning elsewhere. The shrine of the Emperor is for prayer and contemplation. You are welcome so long as you wish these things."
With that the large marine stood and made his way to the alter before falling to one knee and making the sign of the aquila. Standing once more he turned to the two tactical marine who watched him. Claudius had already guessed their next request, a blessing on the weapons that would bring death to the enemies of mankind.
"If you should wish I will bless your weapons. But I shall do it once i have prepared the purity seals." With that he turned hisback on the two tactical marines and was lost in contemplation.
The purity seal was a honor that most battle brothers had received at some time in their lives as Adeptus Astartes. It was often worn on the armour or upon a weapon. The bearer or weapon displaying the seal was free from the taint of Chaos.
It would be important for the Chaplain, more so than any other mission. When the ruinous powers were present it was the Chaplains responsibility to ensure that the taint of Chaos did not corrupt those loyal to the Imperium.

Finishing his prayers Marcus stood and, bowing to the altar, left the Chapel for the armoury and then the Med-Bays, the Chaplain was right he needed to sort this out with the Apothecary.
